Car Valeting really divides into two main types:

1) Mobile Car Valeting
As the name suggests this involves the operator coming to a location nominated by you to carry out the valet; this may be your home or perhaps you may prefer to have your car valeted at your place of work.

2) Fixed Location Car Valeting
You drive your vehicle to the car valeting company where they clean, polish and pamper your pride and joy.

Why have your car valeted?

Cars can represent a major expenditure for many households, therefore it makes sense to protect your investment against deterioration.
Also having your car valeted regularly can add significantly to value when it comes to trading it in or selling privately.  Car retailers have used car valeting for many years as a means of adding hundreds of pounds to a car's resale vale.

What Valeting Services Are Offered?

Car Valeters will normally offer a spectrum of services ranging from basic car washing and polishing through to high-end internal and external restoration.  A typical full valet will include the following elements:
  • Body work and wheels are hand washed using wash and wax shampoo and then 'leathered' off.
  • Tyres and mud flaps are normally rubber dressed.
  • Carpets and surrounding areas are vacuumed including the boot carpet.
  • Seats and back panels are shampooed.  If the seats are leather a seat cleaner is also applied.
  • Door panels, dashboard, headlining and sun visors are cleaned.
  • Windows are polished internally and externally.
  • Dashboard and door trims are treated with vinyl dressing.
  • Bodywork is hand polished, using an appropriate wax depending on paintwork condition
  • External vinyl surfaces are treated with a vinyl dressing.
Real 'petrol heads' might want to go the whole 9 yards by opting to have your engine and compartment pressure washed, followed by a dry off and lacquer of the hoses and rubbers.  Finally if you love the smell of leather you could pay for a special leather treatment to soften and protect your seats.

When calling Car Valeting companies it would be appreciated if you would tell them that you found their details on the Cleaning Directory.
