For burnt-on food at the bottom of your oven, sprinkle with a layer of bicarbonate of soda, dampen using a water spray, leave for a few hours, then rinse.
If you spill food while you are cooking, sprinkle it with salt to prevent it burning.
Soak cloudy drinking glasses in warm white vinegar for about an hour, then rub gently with a dishcloth to remove the film.
To unblock a drain: drop three Alka-Seltzer tablets down the drain followed by a cup of white vinegar. Wait a few minutes, then run the hot water.
Sort out odour coming from your kitchen sink by simply pouring a cup of vinegar down the plug hole. Stand for 30 minutes and then flush with cold water. If you repeat this process every week the odour should not return.
Soak your pans in vinegar and wait thirty minutes and wash with hot soapy water.
Add one half-cup vinegar to a gallon of water to keep your vinyl floors clean.
Burnt something? Twirl a towel laden with vinegar around your head to stop the smoke smell affecting the whole house, it absorbs the smoke and freshens the air.
Vinegar on white bread also absorbs smoke smells.
Vinegar cuts through burnt-on food on ceramic stove tops.
